Gretsch Round Badge Marching Snare

I very much unexpectedly won this auction on ebay http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=8508

So it's an early Round Badge marching snare in pretty good condition ...hopefully. They have on the Gretsch website a 1941 catalog where I think I identified this drum as being the Guardsman model(?), mahogany shell, maple hoops. I know that the Roud Badges are genrally rare and quite collectible drums so I wonder what value would this drum actually have? Is what I paid for it, 134usd shipped a good deal?

It's old and looks original, but there isn't much interest in marching drums since they're for - well - marching. You can try to play in your band with it, but you probably won't like the sound since its made for - well - marching. Most of the buyers of marching drums are looking for parts, and it looks like you did OK if you need the parts. If you don't, you could do what most of the other bidders would do and resell the parts and probably make a small profit (though it sounds like they're overcharging you for shipping). Or you could hold onto it and take it to the next anti-war protest.
