Hello,

I have recently purchased a Gretsch SSB#1 kit in 24/13/18. I posted earlier on the mystery finish (black wrap with a silver line about 2/3s down the drums), and am now finding more weird things about it. Mostly the hardware. Shells appear undrilled apart from non-Gretsch hardware, presumably Premier. I have found a pic and thread on Facebook about a kit with seemingly the same hardware. Is there anyone out there who knows whether Gretsch did indeed ship drums to the UK (where kit is said to originate, I have bought it in Holland) to be fitted with premier tom holders and spurs? I have heard of Pearl hardware, but not Premier. Help appreciated.

I used to work in a drum store in England. We always got Gretsch drums with no mounting hardware. since it was easy to get Premier hardware, that was the natural choice to use. hope this helps
