Gretsch Microsensitive Strainer Arm question Last viewed: 53 minutes ago

Does anyone know the proper thread specs for a Microsensitive strainer arm?

I have a late-50s Gretsch snare with a Microsensitive strainer. The strainer was missing the arm when I bought it. I bought the repro strainer arm from Precision Drum, but the threaded portion (10/32) is much too big to fit the threaded hole in my strainer. Does anyone know the proper dimensions for this snare?

Also, does anyone have a strainer arm that would work?

Many thanks!

There were two different sizes, depending on the age of the strainer. They make both sizes in the repro; too bad it sounds like you ordered the wrong size - assuming Precision has both (I couldn't find either of them on the Precision website). They are 10/32 and 8/32. See the page here with both: http://www.jp2creations.com/Micro_Sensitive.htm

Thanks for the tip! I just assumed that the Precision Drum size would fit my strainer. Looks like my drum is an 8/32. I'll see if Precision has one that they can exchange, and if not, I may be giving Jim Petty a call.
