Gretsch 50s Cocktail drum for sale

Loading...

Hello everyone --

I have a Gretsch cocktail drum I'd like to sell (14" diameter) - but I'm not sure how to go about pricing it - hoping you guys might be able to help.

It's a very cool drum, and from what I understand, will most likely go to someone who will cut it down to convert it to a floor tom.

Here are some of the issues:

* engraving on the hoop

* some pitting on the hardware

* small engraving on the shell itself

* missing the legs

* original snares seem to be a little frayed when tension it taken off the head

* possibly missing bottom head -- did this model have a bottom head? It looks like the kind of thing that would be tacked on because of the bottom hoop, but I'm not sure- there is no marking from a tacked head. Perhaps there was a pre-tuned head?

Otherwise the drum is in fairly good shape for its age and use.

I'd be happy to supply more high quality photos for those interested. Please just send an email: jds622@gmail.com - thanks!

Looks like it is a 24" tall rather than the 28" tall. Your's has no legs, and the bottom calfhead is gone. Legs are pricey. I'd be interested at the right price. eBay really is the way to go. Items usually do sell for what they're worth. I picked up one like yours, but with legs and bottom head for $345, if that's any indication.
