That seems to be a good time frame for the Camco-made pedal. I got one for $10 from the used bargain bin at a MARS store a couple of years before they went out of business. I like the feel and the smplicity of the pedal. I don't have a fast bass drum foot, so the speed of the pedal is not a factor.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

You can also reverse the pedal to strike the underside of a cocktail drum or a floor tom.

The Floating Action pedal is in the mid 50's catalogs and was still in the 1981 catalog, virtually unchanged. Probably the only reason Gretsch still doesn't sell it is that Camco went out of business. It was a great design that became the basis for the DW pedals when Camco (who made these) closed up and DW bought the tooling.

Hard to narrow down when your specific pedal was made due to being in production for decades. There are a lot of them out there so I don't think they are particularly valuable. I have 4 or 5 of them and I think the most I ever paid was $50 (but then I'm a cheapskate).

Still a great pedal even today, put on a nylon strap and a DW heel hinge (bolts right on) and you're good to go.

This is the only pedal that is comfortable to my 15 year old son. He loves it. The DW hinge sounds like a great upgrade.

Thanks for posting.
