Holy CoW! They are runnin' full throttle through that whole song! At about 4:50 you get to here a China type cymbal (they make Chinas back then or were they just trashy sounding conventionally shaped?) Then he doubles on snare with the trumpets.....good chops on this guy.....don't know who it was, but I am confident some of you would know.
Any other examples of great drumming from Big Bands or old Jazz? This could be a very enjoyable thread........
