once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I understand your sadness. They look like beauties. So why did you sell them?

There used to be people who had issues with American drums going overseas, especially when there were lots of Japanese buyers who were re-selling kits. That got a little weird, when they had trailers pulled up at the Chicago show & were loading up kits before any others even got to see them.

But I've sold a few kits to overseas members, & they were just drummers like myself, who really liked Ludwigs & had none to buy. They paid the same price as anyone here would have paid, & were thrilled to get them. I felt fine about it. Someone's going to be happy to get those drums, just like you were when you got them. I hear that. I am one of those overseas drummers, and the Ludwigs I bought from Donn Bennett are much loved and played by me regularly here in Oz. There's a heap of folk who are only in it for the bucks, but there is hope in the world - there's also plenty like me who just want to own a great US-made kit and play the damn thing! Jaghog, I hope the buyer is a player and not a vendor. :)
