George Way set Last viewed: 16 hours ago

If I was alerted to this set because of the OP, and was thinking of buying it, personally I would have sent a message to the guy that alerted me to give him a heads up informing him I was going to pull the trigger on it. If he was not sure about the set, I definitely would have warned him that he was about to lose it. Seems like an easy and honorable thing to do amongst members of the community.

I know many don't agree, but man, these communities and forums seem to be more and more about cut throat buying and selling than about collecting, sharing, and playing drums. Its kind of getting old.

Then again, maybe I'm tired and feeling a bit negative.

Yes ... agreed that is the correct way to have handled it...

Cheers

John, in all fairness of this whole post, I would like to put a few things under the proverbial shining lamp:

#1-Your 1st post. Being honest, yes. Could of been kept under wraps and you could of PM'ed the OP. If I'd of gotten it, I would of kept my mouth shut and enjoyed the restoration and playing of them.

#2-Anyone could of bought those, but you chose to and you said you were "gonna catch heat" by doing so. If that's the case, why open that Pandora's Box? If compensating someone makes you more at ease, go for it.

#3-Telling Wayne it's none of his business is wrong. YOU made it open season for ridicule or praise when you posted that you bought the kit. All are free to voice their opinion, whether you like them or not.

#4-Post #15,in your words, "I'm not a dishonest person and never have been." Maybe so, but I feel IMO you have been less than stellar in one dealing with a forum member regarding a purchase.

Personally speaking, I've not much a fan of you and most of your posts. I think you like being the center of attention and welcome the drama with open arms.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Wow, this makes my last Beach Boys/Camco post really pale by comparison. It's a thread right out of Payton Place or Dallas or.......................

Someone predicted trouble from my post, for which the reasoning completely escaped me, but this one has been real trouble.

I preferred the earlier one where a guy snags the nice blue onyx kit from Guitar Center in my back yard because I lost track of the fact that I should be watching their inventory daily. Nice move dude! :o
