I purchased a george b stone snare drum off ebay and would like to find out more about it.
The drum is 14" x 16",wood shell with 12 lugs and a white flat finish.
Does anyone know when this was made, what matierials were used and an aproximate value.

14"X16"?!!!
Also, a better pic will probably be needed.
Hi 2Wheels,
This one looks like it's up my alley. Throw a couple of more pics up when you get a chance and we'll see what we can do.

2Wheels,
These shells are typically one ply maple with maple re-rings. Tough to date the drum based on what we can see but 1920s is a reasonable ballpark guess. (Is there a number stamped into the wood the inside of the shell? A paper label?) I bought a simlar drum off the bay last year for $65. Value tends to range from roughly $50 - $150 for these single tension field drums.
Any more pics???
