Start him at $800 for the pair. The Geo. Way is worth over a grand by itself.

They are from 2 different people!

Both called me from CL ads I ran!

Really think I can get a G Note for the Geo Way...sans arm?

Getting $1k for a GW? Good luck on that one! If it were Camco I'd say yes it's possible. Which of the 6 different GW strainers is it? All are slim to none in finding one in the parts dept or Ebay!

I'd say $500 would be top dollar for the GW but w/o the strainer I'd offer $250-$300.

The Camco should fetch $500-$750.

Steve,

the GW has the round, turret strainer..

Now that I think about it...I think the thin diameter strainer arm probably snapped off...I will ask him today....

Does the color/strainer help date it?

I doubt I can get it for $300.....but......ya never know!

Maybe I will contact Jeremy Stacey...see if he is interested in it.......

I'm really surprised to hear that, you'd think it would be the other way around. Camco having less value than G.Way. I would have thought the deep-dish version from the original manufacturer would have had added premium value due to 'rarity' if nothing else. My estimate was based on the fact that there are fewer G. Way's around than Camco's. I learn something new every day.

Well for the average drummer doesn't know about George Way including many guys and gals into vintage. I used to steer clear of GW drums myself because of a certain historian that wrote some reviews about icommon ssues with the hardware that Camco fixed.

As time went on I acquired my first GW kit and was blown aWAY by the tone these drums had. I've been hooked ever since.

George Way drums are a perfect example that rare doesn't alWAYs translate to being worth a lot of money. Hopefully that will change in the future.
