ALL DONE!

I was toying with the idea of painting it, but in the end decided to leave it alone.

The picture below is the completed drum.

The build:

Batter head- Remo Coated Ambassadoor.

Snare head- Remo Hazy Diplomat

Snares- Ludwig 20 strand script logo

Sounds a bit harsh, but I'll experiment with different tunings and get it where I like it.

Once you get it dialed in, you'll have one nice sounding snare drum there!

EDIT=> both PowerTone drums are Fullerton (CBS) drums! I could have (and did) sworn they were different factory drums, but they are in fact not. Sorry!

It's funny, I hear a lot of folks bad mouthing GC, but last summer I also found what I believe was a great deal at one in OH. It's a late 70's Premier Model 2000. Paid $75 for it. And I found a '58 Kent snare for $119 at another (w/orig. heads). Happy Holidays to all VDF members.

I messed with it a bit, and re-squared the snares (they were pulling a bit more on one side than the other) and I have to say: it sounds pretty damn nice.

I certainly wont, but I could live with this one snare if I had to. I think these "student" drums are WAY underrated.
