For Sale Buzz King Bop Cat Maple set Last viewed: 10 hours ago

Time to sell the Bop Cat. Really too bad. This was one of the more unique drum sets I have owned.

At 60+ years old, I was always trying to lighten the load for gigs. I tried everything from digitals to the Traps garbage to the Pearl Rhythm Travelers but non of them even came close to real drums.

This kit really does. It's amazing the big drum sound you get from these shells. My friends used to call this my "Clown Kit" because it was like one of those little clown cars at the circus that just keeps producing clown after clown after clown. This little kit just keeps on producing sound out of a tiny shell.

I had a rolling gig box for all the hardware (which isn't much) and this entire kit sat on top. Total trips in and out for gigs...... 1. LOL

Hate to see this one go but I am only keeping one kit and that's my '69 Ludwig.

I am going to try to sell this as a set first. If that doesn't work out, I will break it up.

Bass Drum 14" Diameter x 12" deep $150

Riser (you need this with this kick. If you have a riser or a cradle, you don't need mine $15

Beato Pro 3 case $35

So, $200 for the kick

The floor tom is 12" diameter by 10" deep. $80

Roadrunner case $10

The legs that came with this were just a little too short for my liking so I bought a set of aftermarkets legs. You can see them in the picture where I am playing. $10 if you want them.

So, $100 for the floor tom

The snare is 10" x 5". Incredible sounding for it's size. It comes in a beautiful velvet lined hard case (Buzz is all class). $200

I have a Yamaha SS662 snare stand that is smaller to fit this snare. This snare just doesn't sit right on a standard size stand. Like new. $50 street price..... $25

So, the snare and stand $225

I don't have the rack toms or the risers. I played it with an 8x8 Taye Studio Maple tom. If you want it, $125 with new Beato Pro 3 case.

Like I said, I am going to try to sell the 3 piece set first.... $525 plus actual shipping. I am an overpacker so shipping won't be dirt cheap but I'm sure it will be under $100. That includes the 3 King drums, the bass drum riser and case, the extra floor tom legs and the Roadrunner case, and the snare stand.

I am going to go over these and make sure everything is sweet with them, and then I'll take some better pictures before they go to eBay.

Thanks

Getting ready to run this on eBay.

Before I take all the pictures and all the other work I have to do to eBay it, if anyone here is interested before it goes, I will go $390 for the 3 drums without all the extras (I have 2 Roadrunner soft cases for the kick and floor tom that I will include). Plus actual shipping to wherever you are.

Thanks

Hey man, isn't that Herve's old Bonham kit?

Cool little kit! Hope you find a good home for them. Herve' would have loved them!

I had one of those Trapps kits. It was useless. I also tried the Pearl Rhythm Traveler. Not much better.

At 60+ I was alwasys looking for the lightest loads. Digital started out light but got heavy fast with upgrades. LOL

This was the only set I ever tried that had a real drum sound in a compact package. A buddy of mine had one of those Yamaha fold up kits. Might have been called a gig rig. I don't remember much about it. I do remember it had a pretty good sound for what it was.

Compact packages were my thing for a while. This was the only one I owned that stood to the test. Ask Buzz. He's probably a member here. LOL No?

I decided to break up this kit.... what a shame. However, I am moving very soon and still have too many drums. LOL

If you're interested in the snare, kick or floor tom, let me know. You can PM me here, reply to this thread or contact me on eBay. Whatever is best for you.

Thanks
