Found this old LP in the basement of a local record store. Some type of instructional LP album involving Jim Chapin. Has anyone ever come across this before? New to me so I picked it up. Haven't listened to it yet.

Larry - Jim Chapin produced a bunch of instructional material, written, recorded and video. I use the Moeller Technique and Jim Chapin is one of it's most well-known modern proponents. Don't just listen to it... practice it! No matter what your level of proficiency, learning/practicing Moeller Techniques can only improve your playing skills.

Congrats on a cool find!

On the note of Jim Chapin and the Moeller tech, does anyone know where to get his videos?

Shawn - I've seen clips from them on you tube. Try Google-ing it! They may not be available if no one is publishing/selling them any more.

If you track one, or two video's down, share it with us here please.

Might have been a while ago not, but I've seen them at Guitar Center over the years.

Thanks John. Looking at his dad always makes me really miss Harry Chapin.

LOL - I get three guesses and the first two don't count!

Jim Chapin was an 'old school' drummer. He learned the technique directly from Moeller himself in 1938. What you'll be getting on his instructional DVD is pure and right from the horses mouth. Jim was Moeller's number one student and the guy that inherited the job of spreading knowledge of the technique to modern drummers. You will improve in leaps and bounds by learning the Moeller drumming techniques. Add it to what you've already learned and you'll be a well-rounded, confident drummer ready for any music situation.

Enjoy...
