First Rogers Kit!

Loading...

Hello everyone!

I having been surfing this site for the past 2 months as I looked into buying my first vintage kit.

There are so many amazing kits on here and so much useful information, it's really awesome!

Well I finally took the plunge and purchased something, and I am so pumped about it. Excited

Anyway, I thought I would share! Let me know what you guys think!

Early 70's(?) 5pc. Rogers Powertone(?) kit in Koa

14x5 Powertone COB snare (Dayton)

13x9

14x10

16x16

24x14

It appears to be a mismatched kit of sorts due to the tags...

Any additional information that anyone might have would be much appreciated.

I can't wait to play some shows with this thing!!! :D

I'm not 100% sure but, it might not be so "mis-matched". The majority of the Powertones you have there are Fullertons, and the other one is an early 9/72 which was also a Fullerton made drum. Could be that the Powertones were just made first (???)

Out of all the imitation wood wraps I think the Koa looks the best. I also bet that 24" kick kills! Nice kit.

Thanks everyone!

Yeah, I love the Koa wrap too.

It definitely adds to the retro look which I totally dig.

The 24" kick was the final selling point for me!

It BOOMS!

Now I just need to save up some more money and invest in some cases! :D

24" kick is definetly a big and powerful drum. The neighbors may not like it but we drummers do. Beautiful kit, congrats and much joy playing these.
