Fibes Fiberglass Shells with Steel Wrap Last viewed: 7 hours ago

Hi

I've got some Fibes fiberglass shells with a steel wrap around each shell which I may restore or sell on. Apart from giving the shell added strength is there any other reason why a steel wrap was applied to the outer shell? does it serve any other purpose?

Look forward to your insight.

Thanks

Well as far as I know the steel was done just for looks. How bad/good are they? I found some last summer. They were really grungy, rusty and scratched. I was amazed at how nice they cleaned up. Can you show a pic or two?

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

I removed the steel wrap as it was blemished and dented in places. Although a test with Brasso proved that the metal did clean up well, I don't think irremovable blemishes and dents would do justice to the sound of these Fibes Shells so the wrap was removed from each shell ready for spraying or the application of a new wrap. The items are now listed for sale.

Thanks for your interest!

For sale, how much? What are we talking about here? Sure wish we could have seen some before pics.

Thank you!
