Fake Vistalite drums Last viewed: 8 hours ago

Hello,

Does anyone on here remember a Modern Drummer issue around 2007 with a Rob Cook article about how to spot fake Vistalite drums? If so, can you tell me the month and year of this issue, so I can order a back issue? The reason I ask is because I recently bought a Vistalite drum off of ebay which turns out to be a fake, but the seller doesn't believe me that there are people out there (aka RCI Starlite/Vistalite) that have been making fake Vistalites. I want to scan and email him a copy of the Modern Drummer article so he'll agree to accept a return of the drum.

Thanks,

John

I had a good look around and couldn't find it.

You might be able to email the MD magazine and see if they are able to find it.

Good luck

To tell you the truth, if what you have are RCI shells, you're much better off with those than the vintage Ludwigs. It's just a fact that RCI shells are much better constructed than anything Ludwig ever made. And that's coming from a life-long Ludwig man!

Sorry to hear you didn't get what you thought you had purchased. But if those are RCI shells, thank your lucky stars. Much better, much more expensive shells.

John

Too many great drums to list here!
