I agree Jaghog, double tom mounts were a sign of the times in the early 70's and many collectible 60's kits fell to them. I think many sellers would have sold those near mint toms off separately from the kick, or worse yet, sold off that gorgeous 40+ year old hardware piece by piece to maximize their profit. Since this is a factory matched kit, I think some forgiveness is in order for the extra holes, which would amount to 4 small factory drilled holes provided you turn the kit into a Hollywood configuration. Keeping the kit together, may not be the most lucrative decision I'll admit, but gives drummers who otherwise couldn't afford it, a chance to own a beautiful kit at a fraction of the cost and preserves a bit of drum history.
