Steve,Do you mind explaining the capital M / capital P stamp please? I am curious and don't know much about that.

Most of the time, Slingerland shells with the P stamped on the inside of the shells were to be wrapped. The shells with the M were usually stained / lacquered. This practice was not followed 100% of the time. The set that I have, the toms have consecutive serial numbers. However, the 12" and the 13" have the M and the 16" has a P. So there you have it! Slingerlands :D Great sounding drums!! The badges look to be black and gold, (3 ply) if they are round and the edges are good buy them, you won`t be disappointed.

Thanks Steve.

As to the drums in question, they do sound great!

Man! I started to get a little dizzy starring at that tom mount. It does look bent.

The P stamped in the shell meant the drum was to be covered with a pearl laminate,M meant it would be laquered or painted/stained.

The bent tom arm looks like it was done to add some angle or get the toms closer to the player. It looks curved, not a hard bend. Unless I'm not seeing it right I'd say it was done on purpose. JMO.

Glenn.
