Estate sale last weekend...

The ad said they had some old drums... What we have here is a 1970-72 3-ply Slingerland kit. 15-16-18-26 and 6.5 snare. The only thing that's missing is the muffler knob on the rack tom. Virgin kick and virgin tom. Really great condition. Also included was a brand new DW pedal and brand new DW hi hat stand, some random other stands, a ZBT ride, and a pile of orphans - mostly MIJ/MIT but also a 1965 Ludwig 15 marching snare.

The drums were basically in a pile in a corner of the house's basement.

GREAT story and find!, but please... you GOTTA use attachments to put up pics! This was a fine example of embedded pics within the post. They were way too BIG, and blew the text off the page. By all means post up the pics again!, but in the attachment format. The exception would be if the pics fit within the text box, as those are okay... but we still prefer attachments whenever possible. THANKS!

Good for you. I picked up a late 60s Slingerland in champagne sparkle a few months back at a estate auction.I got a 22 13 and an artist model snare cheap, and another early 60S 22 in fiesta. Wish mine had a 26 inch kick.

Geez, those are nice! Regardless of the price you paid, I hope you're going to keep those as a set rather than split them up. Congrats on a very nice acquisition.

Looks like the snare was dropped on a lug. Minor dent? Maybe just the camera. REALLY cool kit!
