Hi all-

No work myself or the wife today, so we made a field trip. Thanks to CL, brought home a set of emerald green Gretschs. Pretty complete. All mufflers, even the pratt from the bass drum. Original hoops and rods, floor tom legs and brackets. Not sure on the bass drum hoops. Chrome metal, with s/s inlays. I think I've seen '70's Gretschs with these before. If not, easily fixable. But the color! Emerald green pearl. Had to look it up. Never seen a set this color. Is it just my inexperience with Gretschs, or are they that rare in this color? Not sure what I'm going to do with them, I really don't need another set. But these were just too cool to turn down. 12/16/20, good sizes. Same as my green sparkle Dayton Rogers. Any perspective out there, Gretsch experts....

This is one of the nicest of any wrap, & very rare. It's in the '71 catalog, but I don't know when it began or how long Gretsch used it. ..Will make a handsome set.

Here is a catalog scan of Emerald Green in 1971:

What type of tom mount is on the bass drum? The 20/12/16 configuration makes me think there was another 12" tom and the kit was called the Rock "N Roll.

If the tags are still inside the shells and you don't mind posting, KCDrumDad is documenting/dating Gretsch drums. It will also help date the drums.

When the kit is cleaned up, that Emerald Green wrap is going to really pop!

NICE!! I've never seen that wrap either (in my 39 years of playing). Looking forward to seeing them cleaned and set up. Tags tell the tale.

Congrat's!
