Ebay picture scam?

Loading...

So I bought this floor tom this morning on the bay to get one step closer to completing my KOA kit:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Rogers-Powertone-16-Floor-Tom-Drum-Koa-wrap-/261115241383?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&nma=true&si=gDwhSzkt1%2FxaeQmL74HX31HOY%2F0%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

Then while researching my drum came across this!

http://www.counterhoop.com/product/rogers-16-floor-tom-drum-972-koa-mahogany-vintage-maple

Hmmmm I smell a rat!

Anyone have any experience dealing with something like this?

Guy is not denying it! Ha. Here is the first response:

"Hello, I used the first photo...but it looks exactly like this...I showed the top of the drum the blemishes and the small rust on the chrome...this is the exact drum just I could not get my photoshop to do the white background...It is a great piece...I have been using it for a display piece at my house beside my couch."

Told him to send me some pictures of the actual drum and we would go from there.

The first 2 pictures with the white background are taken form the other site for sure. The others are the actual drum....I assume anyway.

Wow, what a weasel! As you've done, I'd insist on pictures of the actual drum. If those not white background pix are of the drum, it is not the same as the one he's pictured. The finish is not brilliant.

As everyone else has stated here before......stay away from p00der2 (or whatever they have called themselves now) amade, and counterhoop....all overpriced weasils who do nothing but strip good drums or steal other people's pics instead of posting their own.

If they can't be honest about what they do or sell, stay away.

pretty shady...however I believe that the two sets of pics are of the same drum...at least the exterior. If you look at the exploded views, you will see a small white dot or defect halfway down between the logo's "s" and the bottom of the drum...same dot on both pics..... unlikely coincidence?
