Some members here have these, some members (like me)would like to have these. You wont have any trouble ID`ing it or selling it here.

In the Slingerland catalog section, you`ll find it advertised in a catalog from the years they ran.

The wood is because of the metal restrictions of those war years. Ludwig has them too.

Batter head`s been changed, but that`s expected no value drop. Maybe the hoops were re-worked, the inlay fade is not the same as the shell. The resonate hoop is larger than the batter hoop, indicated by the splay of the tension rods. I`m not a Ludwig guy so I can`t explain that.

You can`t move a snare hoop because of the strainer as you can with the batter hoop so the clips will always grab the same spot.

Just a quick update on the snare. I've checked with a couple places specifically along with several drum shops and people, and the range of fair market value is between $1000-1500. One guy appraised it around $1200, a couple others lower or higher, all within that range, most of them basing it off of pictures and my description.

It is solid 1-ply maple. I'll post another pic here of the inside. I'm seriously interested in selling it, but still determining an asking price and how to move forward with it. It's such a unique item, it's hard to let go of!
