Dyna•Sonic Badge Reproduction Last viewed: 9 hours ago

Hi All!

Are there any sources for a repo Dyna•Sonic badge? I'm building a "Wanna-be" wood Dyna & although I've got several shells with badges intact, I really don't want to rob them...I do have a few principles left! I know Al Drew sells NOS lugs/frames/etc, but I've never seen him put up a NOS badge.

Thanks in advance!

Every A Hole parts raper on ebay has a badge for sale. Some of them came from drums that would qualify as NOS. And, while I do not advocate destroying perfict drums for the sake of making another ten dollars on the sale, .........what you want is readily available. Burn in a date inside the shell so there can be no accusations of forgery.

Yeah, I hate those cork sockers, that's why I wanted a repo. This drum is for me, not to try & scam someone. I've got one early 70's shell that's in pretty bad shape, but still don't want to pull the badge. Will definitely do the dating burn though. Thanks for the input!

Have to agree if you do not make it so there can never be a doubt about it's date of manufacture it is no different that forging a check and besides it is the right thing to do.. ;)

Thanks Mike! That's what I love about this forum...before finding you guys, I thought I was on a personal mission to rescue as many vintage instruments as I could afford from the scrap yard dealers. My wife & I have a very small apartment, but it has a loft & it is stacked with old vintage drums that I restore faithfully to the best of my ability. I'm currently watching a fleaBay auction with 3 sets of Dyna badges & script logos, I guess I'll try to snag them & do my best to return a little dignity to these pieces of history. Thought about creating my own repo badge...maybe call the drum a Dan•a•Sonic - Retard Built:D...still may do that...like I said this is for me.
