John,

There is a thread here about this company.

My experience with them was less than happy. Despite several emails back

and forth and their promises that the item would be replaced, I never received

it. I finally gave up

Another thread has several other members' experience with drumsandsome.com

customer service as well.

I'd rate any potential transaction with them as buyer-beware.

Hope this helps.

Yes, it helps tremendously, Mike. Just the kind of feedback I was looking for. Glad I asked -before- spending money!

I was going to buy the 3 pt strainer they sell. I also saw the thread with the broken strainer rivet. I figure for $40 it's not bad and a easy fix to peen over the rivet head or replace it with a screw and nut if it fails. This is a ways off for me but interesting the hear feedback on them.

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Yes, also, Jammin' Sam, and a bunch of the other 'regulars' that we all use, no dice on the piece of wrap I'm looking for. drumsandsome was the only place I found the same burgundy wrap I need to finish off the floor tom from the 50's round badge kit I've been working on. It's weird, nobody, with the exception of Precision Drum co. has this wrap. Steve Maxwell offers it, but only on custom ordered kits. I can't just buy a piece of wrap from them.

Looks like I'll just have to wait until next month when Precision gets their back-order in. I tried to purchase the piece of wrap I needed from drumsandsome, but the credit card software isn't working on their site. I called this morning to order directly, and there was this months old recording. That's what prompted this post. The whole operation started to come off kind of 'fly-by-night' which is why I chose to check with you guys for some feedback.

So strange nobody else has this stuff. (Merlot/burgundy wrap) Not even Jammin Sam who has just about every kind of wrap you can imagine.

Mike - I'm looking for wrap to complete the ft. drumsforsale doesn't sell wrap.

John, Tim at Drumsandsome has a full time job and does the drum thing only part time. It is hit and miss to catch him. I've had good luck, but as mentioned, others haven't.

This probably doesn't help any does it?

There's a recent thread re: burgandy wrap here .

It mentions drummaker as a source.

Hope this helps.

Mike - thanks for the lead, but drummaker has the 'Ludwig' color burgundy which is different from the Merlot. It turns out that Gretsch is currently using the Merlot on special order kits! I had no idea when my wife chose it for my Gretsch kit. Great minds think alike, what can I tell you. :p

Thanks all for suggestions, it's looking more and more like I'm going to have to wait for Precision to get the next shipment in.

Rats! I really wanted to get this kit done. I'm dying to play it.
