once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I am going for my first time as well. I will be talking about my research into Gretsch's use of serial numbers at noon on Saturday in the upstairs Master Class room. I will also have a booth with a variety of things. A few of the highlights:

1. Ludwig Downbeat kit with matching Downbeat snare in Galaxy Sparkle;

2. Ludwig Downbeat kit in Champagne Sparkle with added 9x13 (which resulted in non-original double tom mount) and choice of Jazzfest or Pioneer snare.

3. WFL 7x11 and 14x28 set from late 1930s in WMP;

4. Ludwig & Ludwig 14x28 bass in Walnut from late 1920s - Painted calfskin and original red/blue lights inside.

Rick

Collecting information about the following for ongoing research projects:
Gretsch drums with serial numbers,
Ludwig Keystone and B/O badge drums with serial numbers and date stamps,
Ludwig Standards from 1968-73, and
Ludwigs with paper labels from 1971-72
