Drum Set ID Please. Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Any clue what brand set this is? There are no badges. The front bass drum hoop is not original. Both are made of metal.

Any help would be appreciated.

I just love it! Could it be European? I know I've seen that lug before. Seems like it was modeled after the Ludwig Super Classic. 22, 13, 16 sizes? Check the wood grain inside the shell. If the grain runs vertically it's probably old MIJ / Pearl. If it runs horizontally then you know you've got something a little more upmarket. Either way it's one nice looking drum set. Hopefully someone here can positively ID this set.

I just found out! It's the cheaper Roger's R360 with the shells made by Yamaha I think.

I was looking over it again and one of the bottom heads says Rogers R360. It needs new heads but sounds pretty good for what it is.

Thanks

I believe this was made in 1968 and was the first line of R360's.

I found a link to a guy playing a set.

Not sure what happened to the badges on these drums.

There you have it! Good detective work. Glad you got to the bottom of it. Very nice set and in white marine pearl too. All the better.

Those first R-360's are a couple quality notches above the typical MIJ drums of the same era. Yamaha did some nice work for Rogers.

I actually had the identical kit in the identical wrap and loved it. I picked it up for almost nothing and was stunned at the quality sound I got out of it, after replacing the stock heads. The only thing I didn't like was the looks of the metal BD hoops.

The hoops had a little rust on them. I prefer wood but they were not bent which is good.

I'll update the heads and see what sound I can get from them.

The shells were pretty dingy looking but they cleaned up really well. Most of the stains came off with a damp cloth.
