This arrived today:

I had been looking for a Ludwig silver sparkle in a 20" size to go with some toms I have. I figured I would have to settle on a Club Date, as they are more common in that size. This drum came along as a BIN, and I pulled the trigger despite the lousy pictures.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the drum is in remarkably good shape, despite being very dirty and in need of some TLC. The rail consolette is complete; all rods and Ts are accounted for. Spurs and cymbal rod are missing. The hoops have lots of black tape on them; I'm not sure what they will look like, but I'm hopeful. Here are some "before" shots, along with the drums I'm completing the set with. These are all late 60s, and the wraps are a very close match. I know, that's a 16", but it will have to do! Those 14s are too rich for me! I know that it was a bit of a strain to shell out $350 (including shipping) for this bass drum! But I'm glad I did. I'll post some "after" pics as soon as I get through cleaning it up!

That's gonna be a fine drumset, Norm. I used to be all about getting 'original' sets, but now, when I see someone put together some orphans into a working set, it puts a smile on my face--you'll have a vintage kit for someone to play for a long time. Nice goin', bringin' those three drums together....marko
