Do these plastic wood blocks have a name?

I bought these 2 little plastic black beauties the other day. They are adjustable (not)wood blocks. They are marked WFL. Anyone here know if they had a specific name they went by? Era? They sound great and moving the pins really changes their pitch.

I have a few myself they are called Tuneable tone Block. model #777 they date from the 40's till the 60's

these are really nice. I think they are bakelite material possibly..
