Delaware Drum Show Sunday 2/16 Last viewed: 6 hours ago

Loading...

I just shot a pm to MickM to find out if he wants to go with me to the Delaware Drum Show on Sunday. Anybody else going?

http://www.delawaredrumshow.com

I'm going to take along a couple/few snares to sell at the consignment table so I can walk around and enjoy the people, drums and drum talk.

The show is within striking distance of several members. I'd like to know who's going so I can look for you.

John,

I see our fellow VDF member, Matt, from CT Pro Percussion is again going to be a vendor there. A lot of the Delaware Show vendors will be up here in CT for the Connecticut Vintage and Custom Show April 27, so I'm spared the trip down south. Take lots of pics!

Mike - I just heard from, Mick and he can't make it. Bev had eye surgery recently so she's not up to going this time. I'm going to pass too. I'd go if I had some company for the trip. I planned to throw a few snares in the car and sell them at the consignment table at the show. I just don't feel like making the 3 hour round trip drive and then doing the show all by myself. No fun that way, I'd rather have some company or not go at all.

John I do hope Bev is feeling better from her eye surgery. Please pass along my best wishes for speedy recovery! Wish I had the time and cash to make the Delaware show. Maybe next year.

Glenn.

Glenn - it's not a huge show, don't feel bad. I like to go because I know a bunch of the guys there and there is -always- some little gems to be had whether it's drums or parts etc. I really don't feel like making the long drive back and forth by myself. No fun going alone. Besides, with all this inclement weather, I don't think I can get the car out in time! lol

After today's snow you better hire a couple neighborhood kids to extract your car; especially if the plow went by!

Believe it or else!

Glenn - On hiring somebody…

Today, one of my neighbors called me to tell me there was a guy going around the neighborhood looking for work shoveling snow. She pointed him in my direction and an hour later the man was standing on my doorstep. I already shoveled out the walkway to the house and the sidewalk out front. I'm hiring the guy to dig the car out for me.

I take him out front and show him the job and we agree on a price. As we walked back to the house, I explained to him that the reason I wasn't doing it myself was because I have a stent in one of my coronary arteries and I didn't want to end up laying on one my own snow piles. The guy tells me; 'Oh yeah? I know how it is, I'm a cancer patient!'

I just looked at the guy. I didn't know whether to $hit or go blind. What do you say to something like that? The guy looks strong and healthy as a bull! I asked him, why are you doing it if you're sick? He told me what I should have already surmised myself; 'I need the money!'

I didn't have the heart to pull the job from the guy, (and only out of genuine concern for him,) so tomorrow at 2 pm I'll have a cancer patient digging my car out of a massive snow drift!

Ghod help me. If I wasn't going to Hell before, this one will seal my fate! Catch 22, damned if you do, damned if you don't!

LOL
