Pics are always good - Keystone, or B/O badges? clear, or white interiors? All original wrap? Seems rare to find a 20" 'virgin' kick drum I think, (would make sure it's a true virgin). What kind of tom hardware, Hercules? I'd say, (as long as there are no hidden mods) that it sounds like a fairly reasonable price, though not necessarily a 'jump on it now' bargain. If you really like it, it's probably worth serious consideration. Hoops are available, but that will add to the overall cost. That's just my opinion though.

It has keystone badges, no hardware at all, the kit I am told had been covered in woodgrain contact paper which seems to have prevented any fade, the wrap looks great. I believe the interiors are clear.

As vintage hoops aren't really available, 'retail' there really is no set price. Suggest you post in the 'For Sale/ Looking For' section of this forum, or browse through the 'For Sale's. There are a few members that have a good reputation for supplying other members' requests for particular items, such as Mikey777. There is also Ebay of course. Ludwig wood hoops with matching inlays won't be cheap, but if you're patient, you might find a better deal. Good luck.

The hoops wouldn't be a deal breaker for me--new gold sparkle inlay matches the old stuff well, & it's no big deal to paint new hoops. A 20, 12,13,16 isn't a common configuration, but it's a perfectly fine one. If they're what you're wantin', I'd say the price is fine, in good condition....marko

That was probably a Rock Duo kit originally,which is why there is a 20" virgin bass drum.The kit came with two 20"s ,both virgin,and the toms used a floor stand.

Yes, thats exactly what the guy said it started out as, I decided to pass for $1200 with the missing hoops, no hardware, etc, there's just way too many great deals out there right now to pay the long dollar. Thanks guys!

I think you made a good decision to pass. You can get a way better deal than that! Keep looking on your local Craigslist. I dont see why you shouldn't be able to get into a really nice kit for around $6-800.

60's Ludwig drum sets are probably the most easily found American made drums of that period. Consequently, most common finishes are selling for lower dollars with the exception of one of the most common finishes--the all-too-common Ringo Black Oyster. I think that you exercised restraint and good judgement to pass on that drum set.
