Ok in terms of the Dave Tough's Advanced Paradiddle Exercises... three copies exist in libraries around the world; University of Wisconsin library, University of Eastern Washington library, and in the library in Adelaide, Australia.

Our library in Ohio has requested a transfer of the book from Wisconsin. Wisconsin has to yes and be willing to mail it.. I guess some libraries do say NO to these kinds of requests. Our reference librarian (who is being very helpful) says this process of saying yes or no can take a week or more.

BD.. you live anywhere near Adelaide in Australia?? Maybe the book has been in your back yard all the time.

Jack.. you live near U of W or U of EW?

Interesting note: our reference librarians husband is travelling to Adelaide, Australia in August... she said worst case she makes him go see if he can make a copy of it... about 100 pages.

Again... I'll keep you posted.

Well yeah.. stink'in gas prices are a killer... let's give it a week to see if the University of Wisconsin will ship it to Ohio. If they don't balk it should be simple from there.Walking

Adelaide is 900 miles away...

I found the Library in Adelaide, so I'll see if I can contact them and see if I can get a copy or the book sent to me.

I'll let you all know of any progress

Gentlemen, we may have a result!

Following Jim's hot tip that there was a copy in Adelaide University I checked their lending poicies via their website.

I didn't qualify under any of their criteria, other than community membership which was going to be $110 and even then remote access wasn't possible.

So I asked the public library next to my office and they were happy to try and get it. Cost me $15 but a copy of the book is supposed to be on its way!!.

Stay tuned to this station for news of its actual arrival.

Stuart... GREAT!! that sounds like it just might work out.

I'm still waiting on Wisconsin to respond... they did actually acknowledge the request today.

The whole idea of a 100 page book of Paradiddles from 1941 does have our librarians real intrigued.

I told them to dig up a bio on Dave Tough if they wanted to be a little more intrigued.

Sorta spooky!

When I searched google for Dave tough references there wasn't much, nothing on Amazon or any other online seller, and then in the space of a couple of weeks there Dave Tough's framed brushed, ads for the book.

Strange.
