Dating a Ludwig Supraphonic snare drum(KeystoneBadge)

Loading...

Hello fellow members! I'm new to the site so I'm not sure if this is the place to do it, but I just got a Ludwig Supraphonic and I need help getting the date of it. It has a Keystone badge so I know it's the 60's. On the badge there is a set of numbers,"116188". There is no stamp on the inside of the shell. Please help!!

Welcome to the forum! If you have a way to post pictures of the drum that would be great! makes for easier identification. Just going off the serial number, the guide shows around 1965. But, sometimes those serial #s arent always completely accurate.

Does it have a baseball bat tone control? If so, what color felt - red or white? That serial number range is where it could be either.

Collecting information about the following for ongoing research projects:
Gretsch drums with serial numbers,
Ludwig Keystone and B/O badge drums with serial numbers and date stamps,
Ludwig Standards from 1968-73, and
Ludwigs with paper labels from 1971-72
