Cymbals and Things

Have a couple of things I need to sell!

14" Bosphorus Stanton Moore Fat Hats (890/1050 grams - I'm going off of memory so don't hold me to those exact numbers.) Again, these are some great all-around hats. They have a little patina, but nothing bad at all, just a slightly darker hue than you typically see on the new models. These sound great and have a nice warm, slightly dark tone. $190

14" Zildjian A hi-hats 1960s era. In very nice condition, with a great warm, smokey sound. I don't know the weights, but the top is bendable, so they are the lighter side. (I would say these are probably in the 700-800/ 800-900 range, but I don't have a scale, so that is just an estimate.) Bought these from a forum member about a year ago. These have been treated well, no keyholing or flea bites or anything like that. They are actually in nice shape. $150

20" Zildjian K Custom Dark Ride - A stellar all around ride. This one is probably medium-thin or on the heavy side of thin. It is crashable, but it still definitely retains that great Zildjian K sound. $175

17" Bosphorus Traditional Series thin crash (1096grams) - A great warm sounding crash. It is very thin so it decays very quickly. The only issue with this cymbal is the label was very light when I got it, and over time it has become slightly lighter. $175

Tuxedo soft bag (is slightly padded) 20X18 in good shape $40

Pics available upon request.

Are Zildjian A hi hats the same as new beats? I don't know anything about vintage cymbals but I have some modern A customs that just don't sound the way I want them to. (not looking for a trade btw)

Thanks

This is just my take, but I think of vintage Zildjian A hats as darker and warmer sounding that New Beats. The pair I'm selling has a "smokey" sound that is definitely darker and less pronounced that modern New Beats. (A Customs would be even brighter and more defined than New Beats.)

I think these hats do a great job of "sitting in" a mix rather than blasting over the top or cutting through a mix. I wouldn't use them in a really loud situation, but they can work in everything from jazz to pop to some rock. I love these hats, I'm only selling them because I just bought a set of 15" vintage Zildjian As.

Shipping to Italy is a huge issue because of their laws regarding importing musical instruments. I was burned badly on one transaction with someone living in Italy. If you have an address in another country, I will happily ship the cymbal, otherwise I'm going to pass.
