ok so my brother says "while you're on there " "ask what crash the guys would suggest to go with the hats n ride i have "

ok so mike has a set of 13" mastersound hihats and a 20" Zildjian med ride...70s i think. so....what crash would you suggest?

i think hes looking for a 16 or 15 ?? , it has to be a Zildjian.

these will be the cymbals he will put with the Camco kit we have.

thanks in advance.

Robyn ,i'd say a sweet 16 thin old A, there plentiful and have a sweet spot I'd say mid to late sixty's but I must add, a early 70's hollow spot A is great sounding also ....gary

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Depends on what kind of a sound he's looking to get out of a crash. Does he want, bright, explosive crashes, or does he want dark, clipped crashes etc.?

You also want the cymbals to sound good together, compliment each other and to have some contrast in pitch between them. You can spend a lifetime finding the 'right cymbals.'

A good, safe bet would be a light 16, or even 18 hollow logo A. Hard to go wrong with those. So many to choose from though... really depends on what he's looking for.

Put up an ad in the wanted section here, robyn. One of the guys may have one for you. If not here, check out fleabay, Music-Go-Round, Guitar Center etc. etc. Shouldn't be too tough to turn one up. I just bought an 18" thin, hollow-logo from Matt and I couldn't be happier with it. They're just consistently great sounding cymbals.

Happy hunting... If I see one, you'll get a PM from me with a heads up where to look. :p

Robyn,

Before you even ask, no, I do not have any more hollow logo crashes for sale right now.

I have always liked thin 17" crashes myself, but they are less common than 16".

Any thin or medium thin 16" Zildjian A or A Custom crash will make him happy.
