What should I look for on the hoops? They sure don't appear to be COB... should they be??

How do you tell new hoops from old hoops??

Awesome score!

First off what color is the felt muffle?

Looks like its got a serial number, so probably not brass.

Hoops could have been brass originally if it is early 60's (red felt muffle)

My pre serial supra has the indented snare beds and red felt but is ludalloy.

I put a die cast hoop on mine and it can kill people with in a 30 ft. Radius!

Btw you can tell brass hoops by seeing if a magnet sticks to them.

Thanks... a couple replies said "the drum looks correct except for the modern hoops"

It is a mid/late 60's drum so what hoops should it have on it.

What are the characteristics of the hoops that are on it that make them modern vs the correct 60's hoops?

Is it height, material, finish, profile, shape... if I go looking for the right hoops I'm trying to figure out what I should be looking for???

Thanks again...
