Five or six years ago, I purchased a set of 1967 Rogers drums in Staten Island, NY. It was a blue onyx Celebrity with flat grey interiors and COB Dynasonic No. 11908, along with and all the hardware and cymbals. Craigslist find. Beautiful drums and snare. Hardware was getting tired and cymbals not especially good, but A series Zildjian. Soup to nuts with original cases was $1600.

After it was all said and done, I had a really nice Dyna and a couple hundred extra bucks left over for my effort and the buyer got a beautiful three-piece set. He didn't want the Dynasonic.

When I bought them, I got the original sales slip with the kit. I just found it again today. At the time, it stunned me because Sam Ash was discounting deeply even back in that day whereas where I lived there was no discount at all. So this $579.50 purchase received a whopping 40% off!!! The buyer walked out with the set, cymbals, trap cases and a throne for $354.00. I paid $225 for my first MIJ set in the same month of the same year!!!!electricit

If I'd known and been able to get down to NYC, man oh man, I would have gotten my red onyx set from day one.

Hi-hat and snare stand in this picture are mine, but the rest was part of the deal along with the Rogers hat and snare stand. The throne was long gone.
