Looks like it says "Zeltian" or "Zveltiarn" to me...which doesn't help me at all! I've never heard of this.

Perhaps it's another spelling of Zildjian??

mmmmmaybe...but I doubt it. Can you provide some more shots of it -the entire cymbal?

I found a reference on an Italian drummers site (I know, get a life) referring to Zveltiam cymbals, made in Italy 1950s. There was a 15" crash going for 75 Euros. Think that might be the answer to the question. H?ber det hj?lper.

Thanks for the italian ref. What bugs me is the Constantinopel stamp tho, as far I know they never made cymbals in Italy.

I think it was pretty common for the small time cymbal makers to make Turkish references in their cymbal stamps. The moon and star is also a Turkish reference. It looks like the script says Constantinopla which is kind of an Italianized Constantinople. To me it says that Constantinopla may be the cymbal model. Just a thought.
