I understand that the collet plates for the rogers bass drums vary in angle depending on the size of the drum they are to be used. I was told that 75degree angle was for 20" and 60 degree angle was for the 22" ..is this true

I'm not sure about the different angles, but all my plates are the same on my 12/16 & 20. I just had them off to clean and noticed they were interchangeable. I'm no math guru, but it seems to me the radius would be the same as the drum gets larger and if there is a difference, it would be so small the metal plate could accomodate it.
I just can't see them differently from a manufacturing standpoint. That's my opinion, and of course I could be wrong.
The Rogers book shows 22 - 24 using the 75 degree; I can't remember offhand if the 60 is for 20's or what though.
Just to clarify - l think Tillerva means the angle of the stem which holds the hex rod coming out of it (not the angle of the actual curved oval plate\escutcheon itself). lndeed there are at least 2 different versions of this w\ 2 different angles- however l dunno which one served which - or if perhaps the angle changed over time - or if one angle was for spurs and the other for the tom\cymbal mounts
Hey, Kevin!
I would think that TommyP, resident Rogers expert, would be able to help you with this one.
TommyP, are you out there?
That's correct, three different designs; 75, 60 and 45 I believe.

I have a 20" Dayton that has 75 degree bass spur collets and a 22" Fullerton that has 60 degree bass spur collets. I think the 75 degree collets were also used for tom mounts along with the straight (90 degree) collets
thanks all ...I appreciate your input..I verified that the angle differences do exist by virtue of the Roger Drum Book but they don't specify which angle goes with which..based on my technical opinion I would have guessed 75 degrees with the smaller diameter drum but wanted to hear what you all had to say..thanks all
