Coctail Kit!

Loading...

Check out this video! Not only are these guys really great musicians, but the drummer is using a mongrel cocktail kit that just kills. Talented bunch of guys. They call themselves; Steven'N'Seagulls, I guess it's a spoof on 'Steven Seagal'. Check out this kit and how well the drummer employs it. Does anybody here play a similar hybrid/mongrel kit? Fun stuff. Enjoy.

That's a cool video. He has a rubber pad on the floor tom and uses it as a trap table. I've been slowly putting together the pieces for a sit down cocktail kit. I may get it finished in the next couple months.

Wow! Very cool remake.

I've kept my eye out for a cocktail kit that's not outrageously priced. Someday . ..

That kit looks very similar to one I bought recently and converted to a sit down kit. It was$250 plus shipping from Ebay and has good sound and quality.

Jerry - Post up some shots when you get it done!

Dionne - Yep, cocktail kits and drums are pricey. A buddy of mine on a limited budget took years to find an affordable vintage kit, but even then, he had to do a lot of work to get them back up to snuff. CL and ebay are about the only places I ever see them and not too often at that.

Tinman - Cool! I like the cymbal set-up. Is it MIJ or American made?

Gammons are Asian kits marketed in the USA and other countries. What kind of wood are the shells made of? Does the grain run vertical/up & down? Could you take a photo of the inside of one of the drums for me?

I had a knowledgable friend look at these and he said they are birch with a lacquer finish. The grain runs from top to bottom on what I have. I'll try and get a picture.
