COB? Ludwig Super Sensitive question... Last viewed: 53 minutes ago

What are the chances a pre serial keystone badged Ludwig Super Sensitive snare drum being COB.

Rob Cooks book states that very few were made out of steel. When guys say steel do they mean aluminum?

Is it safe to assume that most pre serial Ludwig keystone badged metal snare drums are COB?

Thanks in advance gents! :)

Never EVER assume it is COB. Check it out closely. Biggest giveaway it is not would be pitting or flaking of chrome.

Thanks surface, can't inspect it but there doesn't seem to be any pitting on it.

If you're talking about the one at Goodwill, it's a COB. Bidding is only up to $357. Somebody may get a real good deal on that one.

Too many great drums to list here!

Was my bday yesterday so I luckily forgot about bidding out on it, figured it was COB as it didn't look like any pitting. $357 is about what I paid for the Denver Goodwill sight unseen pile of vintage pies, one of which is a 50's K, Supra, stands and pedals. Still not sure how I lucked out on that one :D

Went for $486, sometimes buyers flake out and the item gets relisted...

486 doesn't seem terrible. ive seen those bags pull around a 100 give or take by themselves. the missing guards kind of suck.. that's a disaster waiting to happen if they don't pack it well.

Missing guards were in another snare case from the same store. There was a nice vintage case of percussion trap gear too that I passed on.
