66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Is that BD really 18"? It looks like a 20" kick which would make sense as they came with most Club Date kits.

I love my Clubbies. They tune up so easily. I just dial them in to the lowest tone that they'll resonate on, and they sing for me. One felt strip on the bass is all she needs. Great drums.

Kits:
1950s Gretsch Name Band in Midnight Blue Pearl (13/16/22/14sn)
1965/66 Ludwig Club Dates rewrapped in Black Diamond Pearl (12/15/20)

Those clubbies look just like mine :) I won't say where but I found another clubbie kit on the cheap I might pick up also. I love the sound of these drums.

Jaghog, are you saying you have an 18" Oyster Black Pearl Club Date bass drum? Can you show us some close-ups? How about a shot of the badge? Is it a 12" or a 14" deep drum? Do you know where it came from? Does a regular 18" plastic bass drum head fit on it?

I'd be surprised if anyone has ever seen one of these. Please take some pics......marko

I approach the tuning the same way as my super classics.

tighter on the bottom head(the 8x12 tom IS tricky though) & coated Ambassadors all around.

My 20" kick BOOMS!!

I'm on the hunt for another one of these kits right now. LOVE these drums.

I go for tight as possible on resonant heads, and one turn of each rod lower than that for batters. Sounds like heaven.

Gery - if that 18" is original, (not a converted floor tom,) that is one rare and very valuable kit! I've -never- run into an 18" ClubDate bass drum in any finish, much less OBP. More photos of the bass drum please.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

I am a newbie to the Club Dates but I also have yet to find an 18" bass drum. Seeing as Ludwig was cranking kits it would not surprise me.
