club date stands??

Loading...

Hi all,

tricky question...

In order to have a '67 club date set up as correct as possible,

would you use a flat based hi hat stand or a 1123-1 spur lock??

The '67 catalogue shows them both...

I know club dates didn't originally come with a hi hat but still :p

and now we're at it, flat based vs spur lock!! what's your opinion??

greets

Dennis

its completely up to you. the 1123-1 spurlock stand had been out for a few years prior to 67 even though it first shows up in the 67 catalog. they are plentiful and will save you tons of money over the 1123 that came before it. it has a spurlock pedal as well but is flat based.

if i was putting together a period correct 67 kit, i would go with the 1123-1 for sure.

Any idea on performance and reliability between the two??

I gig with both, the original has stiffer spring action, and is a tough hi-hat,a little longer to set up that the Ringo stand. The original is damn near mint and very solid, the Ringo one is well used and kinda wobbles when hit with gusto. But as the last fellow said "$$ vs $$$$" The original hands down...MME
