I noticed on e-bay most of the vintage cymbals are cleaned. Im at a loss. what should we do with our vintage cymbals?

Personaly I would leave them, if they are pre 1960's
I do know drummers that play polished cymbals for gigs etc..
If you are selling it then leave it up to the buyer. If you are playing them and like the sound, then just leave them.
Remember also, in many other hobbies for antique items they do not
recommend cleaning things. The patina and age characteristics are lost with cleaning.
Shiny cymbals have never been an issue for me and I have not cleaned a cymbal in 20 years. It could also be that I'm lazy in
that regard.

As far as cleaning...I like to clean my new cymbals.I do it every 2-3 months or so. Just to keep them looking good.That and I can get very OCD when I notice my finger prints,lol. As far as vintage cymbals go I like that greenish-blue look to them.Makes them look their age.But I guess its up to sellers. Maybe some clean them to get a good shot of the engravement to show what they really are.
