Chicago Drum Show - Last viewed: 29 minutes ago

Hey everyone! Hope you are all well! As you all may or may not know, our forum super admin TommyP will be at the Chicago Drum Show, with the "Buddy Rich Snare Drum History" Booth, sponsored by the VDF & VDG.

The history booth was something Rob Cook and I had discussed years ago to be at this special 25th anniversary show.

TommyP was the impetus for this display with his impressive snare drum collection and his knowledge of the legendary Buddy Rich both being represented here for the first and only time! We will probably never see a display like this again!

There will also be other special pieces from his collection, including photos, drum sticks, and Buddy Rich DVD performances playing throughout the show.

We are located in the main entry area on the west wall, so you have to pass us to get from room to room.

We hope to see you there, and look forward to talking to everyone from the VDF.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

My son and I will be there Saturday and Sunday. We would have been there by now, but I thought it best for him not to skip three of his final exams.

Collecting information about the following for ongoing research projects:
Gretsch drums with serial numbers,
Ludwig Keystone and B/O badge drums with serial numbers and date stamps,
Ludwig Standards from 1968-73, and
Ludwigs with paper labels from 1971-72

Here is a quick shot of the booth - we will replace this with a better photo tomorrow. This will give you a good thumbnail sketch of what the display looks like.
