The 18th version of the world's largest and longest running vintage and custom drum show is coming up on May 17 and 18. There are a record number of exhibitors; I had to narrow the side aisles to add a few more spaces and still all but one of the 105 spaces are filled at this writing. I've heard from quite a number of folks from Denmark, England, Italy, and the Netherlands who are making the trek. The clinic/master class program will continue to raise the bar for this type of event- please check out the 2007 clinic highlights posted at the Rebeats site and Youtube. There is also a video of the 2007 exhibits that can be accessed at the Rebeats site. For a look at the raffle prizes and other show details, go to www.chicagodrumshow.com. Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks- Rob Cook

This was a concept that grew and grew over the years.I think its by now,one of the most popular shows within the percussion industry.A few years ago, myself and two other builders "made the trek" also from Ontario Canada, but somehow we weren,t recognised. No pictures, acknowledgement, thanks for coming...nothing.I appreciate Mr Cook is a busy guy,so i suggest you take the initiative, and let him know your there...if thats important to you since you paid to be there.I guess its become a who,s who,and how much are you spending kind of game now....Still,im sure you will have a great time.
I did not want to start a new post, so I wanted to kep this news up front...
The show is fast approaching. I will be there both days helping Rob, NSMD and taking photos for the Internet.
No plans on purchasing anything, but you just never know!
If anyone wants to say hi, feel free to approach me and start a conversation.

Anybody wants to say high? Hmmm, sounds like a peculiar invitation, Laughing H
DOH Thanks, I fixed it!

I added the photos to the gallery section.
Also, if you heard the show was loud, Rob Cook had lost his voice and was having a hard time trying to talk on the microphone..
He was not able to do what he did last year and make frequent calls of silence..
Other then that, I walked away with about 3" of literature that Billy Jeansone had at his booth.. it was catalog and flyer candy store and he sold it to me at a very nice price. I have to say he is one of the nicest people I have met in the business...
It would take me years to collect that type of stuff and I plan on scanning it to the web site for everyone to see.
