It's not a bad drum..........but Cadillac Green it is not...

That's a lacquer Gretsch used in the 50's

Gary,That drum looks to clean to me.Maybe a re-paint job..To me the grommet looks wrong to me...Gary did you see the 50's Gretsch Cocktail drum on ebay for 75.00?.....Mikey

Yes - the paint does look suspicious but the closeup looks like it may be the real deal - not Cadi Green (I sent an email to the seller regarding this) - but it could be that Green lacquer Gretsch used back in the 40's and 50's. I have a green lacquered 6x10 tom that appears to be the same finish.

I have the same drum but it the Copper lacquer. I since changed the Ludwig strainer to a proper Renown even though the Ludwig IS a much better strainer.

I saw the Cocktail drum and spoke to the seller - it's 6ply...I'm looking for a 3ply. There is a 3ply on eBay but not one I'd alter in any way. I'm looking for a 3ply to refinish.
