I have a Sonor Champion Six set that I am trying to find a 16 floor tom for. I have come across one but the seller isn't able to tell me how many plys it is....so it could be the thinner 6 ply (Champion) or it could be from the later 9 ply (Phonics). What kind of sound differences do you think there might be between the two? Do you think if I get a Phonic floor tom that you can tell the difference between the sounds of it and the rest of my Champion set?
