Just saw the pictures of your CB700. It's missing the chrome bar that runs under the drum, between the 2 vertical posts. That's why you see those holes on each side. Without the bar, the mechanism won't work correctly and it's difficult to properly adjust snare tension. Did you see the bar on my drum when I posted the picture for you?
