Ive been playing the same old configuration for years and with a newly purchased Camco kit on the way i thought I'd play around with a 67 Ludwig kit I have that has larger toms. I set it up using a snare stand to mount the tom to the left of the bass drum. I usually have a 10 positioned over the bass drum off a cymbal stand or dunnett consolette. The first pic is a 13,16,22 set up. It's ok, but to me the 13 would look more proportionate with a 24. So I threw an orphaned late 50's 12" Tom on but in a slightly different finish from the blue oyster pearl. Second pic.
I should try and find BOP wrap to rewrap the 12 Tom because I much preferred the 12 with the 22 bass. Anyone know where I can get blue oyster pearl wrap? A newly acquired vector pedal will really solidify the comfortability factor once it arrives.
I have old heads on all drums and never turned a tension rod and this kit sounded killed!! Especially the 22. I think I'm gonna throw remo coated emps on top with coated ambys on the bottom and start using them along with the Camcos when they arrive.
I'm hooked.....
