Canister throne idea Last viewed: 27 minutes ago

So I have two 15" WMP marching shells (slingerland) and I was thinking I could try and make a canister throne!

Anyone second this motion or have a better idea?

Oh Yeah! Canister thrones are cool. After awhile, you get so used to sitting on them while your playing you could "Roll around" as you played a long fill on the kit. You can store your stage junk in them to.. keep it clean. Fun!

Just thinkin' out loud here, never done it......

What if you routed the bottom edge of the top drum to a 45 degree, and by that I mean the angle starts at the wrap and goes downward.

Then have the top edge of the bottom drum be the opposite of this and set them into each other so the wrap is butted up nicely.

(like when you are splicing baseboard or chair rail, the same type joint)

I would think if you made sure the router got into the wrap on each drum, slightly, they would mate up and not look bad.

Very cool idea! The only problem is the amount of holes on the wrap from the hardware. I don't have all the hardware either so no matter what there will be extra holes.
